Compulsory Purchase Order/Environmental Impact Statement

The Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) for this Scheme is made and has been submitted to An Bórd Pleanála for approval. The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is also published. Notices of the making of the CPO and the publication of the EIS appeared in local (Clare Champion, Limerick Leader) and national (Irish Independent) newspapers during weeks ending Friday 31st October 2003 and Friday 7th November 2003. The full text of these notices can be viewed on the News Page. Landowners directly affected by the route received individual notification that the CPO is made.

Members of the public could have inspected both the CPO and the EIS documentation at County Hall, Dooradoyle and at the Mid West National Roads Design Office, Mungret College on working days between the hours of 9:30 am to 4:30 pm between 30th October 2003 and 4th December 2003 inclusive. The EIS was available for purchase at both the above offices during the same period. The EIS Volume 1, Non-Technical Summary can be viewed or printed on the Publications Page.

Written submissions/objections could have been made to An Bórd Pleanála no later than 5.30 pm on Thursday 18th December 2003.

Although the above statutory period for inspecting the CPO and EIS documentation is now over, members of the public are still welcome to view same at the Mid West National Road Design Office, Mungret College. The EIS remains available to purchase at the above office.
