Compulsory Purchase Order Confirmation
Deimhniú ar Ordú Ceannaigh Éigeantach

The Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) for this Scheme was made on the 24th October 2003 and confirmed, without modification, by An Bórd Pleanála on the 29th July 2004.

Notices of the confirmation of the C.P.O. appeared in local (Clare Champion, Limerick Leader) and national (Irish Independent) newspapers during the week ending Friday 20th August 2004. The full text of these notices can be viewed on the News page.

Limerick County Council lodged an application to An Bord Pleanala back in October 2003 for approval for this Scheme under Section 51 of the Roads Act, 1993. An Bord Pleanala approved this proposed Scheme on the 29th July 2004.

A Notice to Treat for the purchase of the interests in the lands, as set out in the Schedule to Compulsory Purchase Order, was served on landowners in October 2004. A Notice of Entry was subsequently served on these landowners in late October 2004.

Although the statutory period for inspecting the C.P.O. and E.I.S. documentation is over, members of the public are still welcome to view same at the Mid West National Road Design Office, Mungret College. The E.I.S. remains available to purchase at this office.
